Fourtitude 1...2...3...4 Cancers Chose My Son
The mother of a three year old, active, vivacious boy peers at her son with concern. He is bruising easily and appears listless. What unfolds is a mother’s story of disbelief, horror; yet, great FORTITIDE! Diagnosed with cancer four (4) times, a myriad of treatment effects to include paralysis, her son, Andrew, is a survivor.
How does life go on during these catastrophic events which render your child time after time at death’s door? Always on the brink of an emotional abyss, there was never a question of ‘Is he going to live?’ but what does a mother do to keep him alive. Christy employs strategies which offer her strength. She relates stories of the absolute support from her family friends, and physicians. Woven in, around and deeply through this is her strong faith. She is God Fortified, Family Fortified, Physician Fortified and Friend Fortified!
How can a story like this not be sad? Christy takes us through breath holding and breath taking events. It’s the end – it’s her son, Andrew, that makes this a story of enlightenment and joy! Told and seen through a mother’s eyes, we travel along as mountains of adversity try to claim victory. They are no match for this mother. Her testimony portrays a strong woman whose son grows to become ‘Sonsational’. He flourishes in her fortitude!
