Adrienne's Youth
This is an adult fantasy not intended for children or the squeamish. It is a story about a girl born May 1, 1740. She runs away from home when she is almost seventeen years old. She grew up on a sugar plantation in the Caribbean, where she worked every day beside her father, and grew up to be strong and well educated. Her mother hated her because her husband was not the girl's father. She tormented the child until one night, in a drunken stupor, she almost killed her. Saved from certain death by her nanny, Adrienne ran away. She had two runâ€"ins with evil men that raped and tormented her. She survived by killing her captors and taking over their ships. She becomes a very smart and capable fighter. To the French and Spanish, she was a privateer. To the British, she was a pirate. This adult fantasy is told with the bark on and touches my emotions in several ways. I hope you enjoy it.
